Defined as “a person whose trade is cutting up and selling meat in a shop”, the act of butchering seems to be a bit of a lost art. Industry officials state a critical shortage of skilled labour, and are excited about esteemed competitions like this, which aim to elevate the trade as the next culinary superstar.
